Recently honored with a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, Parag Pathak of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology received a Graduate Research Fellowship in 2003. In this interview, Pathak, an economist, describes how the Stable Matching Problem brings mathematical certainty to the process whereby medical school graduates apply for residency programs.
