The National Science Foundation-funded National Radio Astronomy Observatory expands on a news release just issued this morning related to Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array's (ALMA) new high-resolution capabilities. Astronomers have captured the best image ever of planet formation around an infant star as part of ALMA's testing and verification process for new high-resolution capabilities. We invited journalists, astronomers, and anyone just interested in cool astronomy findings to join us at our Google Hangout with ALMA Deputy Director Stuartt Corder and NRAO Astronomers Crystal Brogan and Tony Remijan. We discuss this finding and what it means for the future of astronomical science. NRAO's Charles Blue and NSF's Ivy Kupec moderate.
