Great American Solar Eclipse (Image 9)
Early in the day on Aug. 21, 2017, National Science Foundation (NSF) Director France Córdova was in Glendo, Wyoming, to observe the Great American solar eclipse. "The 2017 solar eclipse was more than an opportunity to marvel at the beauty of our nearest star; it was a chance to capture unique science," she said. In Glendo, the eclipse began around 10:30 a.m., local time.
