"Into Your Mind," by Shimon, the robot
This is a music video of the first single from the upcoming album "Shimon Sings." The new album will have eight to 10 songs Shimon wrote with his creator, NSF-funded Georgia Tech Professor Gil Weinberg. Weinberg's team trained the robot on 50,000 sets of lyrics from jazz to progressive rock to hip-hop. Machine learning and deep learning enable Shimon to come up with lyrics and contribute to the melodies. And, yes, it is Shimon’s own voice. Shimon was originally developed with support from the National Science Foundation Cyber-Human Systems program, grants #0713269 and #1017169.
