A 3D forest of chromatin
Northwestern University researchers discovered that chromatin -- a mix of DNA and protein within chromosomes -- folds at the single-cell level into a variety of tree-like domains spaced along a chromatin backbone, resembling a forest of trees growing from the forest floor.
