Arcade claw machine picks out correct RNA shape from pool of possible RNA structures

In this artistic drawing of an arcade claw machine, a smart claw picks out the correct RNA shape from a pool of possible RNA structures. A new artificial intelligence algorithm can pick out an RNA molecule’s 3D shape from incorrect shapes. Computational prediction of the structures into which RNAs fold is particularly important -- and particularly difficult -- because so few structures are known.
