Study finds horses have been present on Great Plains as early as 16th century

"He Stalks One" of the Lakota Nation connects with a horse. An international study found that horses have been present on the Great Plains of North America since as early as the 16th century. The study was led by the University of Colorado and included researchers from the Lakota, Comanche and Pawnee nations and from schools across 15 countries, spanning over five continents.
