A dairy calf wears a blue pedometer – an "internet of things," or IoT device – on its hind leg to record its activity, such as the total steps it takes and how often it gets up or lays down. Monitoring dairy calves with precision technologies based on IoT can lead to earlier diagnosis of calf-killing bovine respiratory disease.
