Division Director positions in OCE, EAR, and AGS (10/30/17)
May 28, 2019
As you may be aware, in my current capacity as Director, Division of Ocean Sciences, I am an “IPA rotator”, with my home institution being Boston University. Accordingly, my term at NSF is limited to a maximum of four years, which is coming up sometime in CY2018. Carol Frost, Division Director of Earth Sciences, and Paul Shepson, Division Director of Atmospheric & Geospace Sciences, are also “IPA rotators”, and are roughly on the same calendar. We three came in under the leadership of then-Assistant Director Roger Wakimoto (himself an “IPA rotator”), and, well, 3-4 years goes faster than one may initially think, and it is now time for consideration of our successors.
Accordingly, all three positions are now in the process of being advertised. One can apply for a permanent position or as an “IPA rotator”, or in other classifications as well.
Please visit the following websites for details about the postings and application instructions, and please feel free to distribute this information widely. The closing dates are all the same: January 29, 2018.
