The United Nations (UN) is requesting nominations of scientists for a Pool of Experts to participate in drafting and review of the second World Oceans Assessment (WOA-II). Criteria for members of the Pool of Experts includes internationally recognized expertise in any of the world’s oceans and marine areas, especially Experts with experience in social sciences, and the ability to serve in a voluntary and independent capacity. Those interested should contact State Department’s Allison Reed (ReedAD@state.gov) for a solicitation form and further information. The deadline for the first round of nominations is 30 April 2018, and the projected completion date for the WOA-II is 2020.
