U.S. Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology: Opportunities & Actions Roundtable
May 11, 2022
Dear Colleague,
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Ocean Policy Committee (OPC) Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology (SOST) is hosting an Opportunities and Actions Roundtable this Summer. Please see below for event description and instructions on how to participate.
SOST OPPORTUNITIES AND ACTIONS ROUNDTABLE
IMPORTANT DATES:
DESCRIPTION:
The U.S. Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology (or ‘SOST’) invites the ocean community to share their innovative and novel ideas to advance Federal ocean science and technology priorities. Three cross-cutting priorities are outlined in the recently released Opportunities and Actions report: climate change, resilient ocean S&T infrastructure, and a diverse and inclusive blue workforce, all of which include connections to racial justice and equity.
This is a broad and open-ended call for ideas that can range from specific events the SOST could organize to broad topics or approaches for new research efforts. Additional examples of ideas include collaboration spaces in which Federal agencies could more actively participate, proposed changes to operational or administrative procedures, or proposed expansions of existing research efforts.
Submit a short questionnaire:

Everyone is invited to attend this event.

Please note that this is not a call for funding and interested participants would benefit with becoming familiar with the role of the SOST in the Federal ocean science and technology space. The 30 Federal Departments and Agencies who will participate in the Roundtable are listed on the SOST Website.
