This Reviewer link takes you to the reviewer/panelist sign-up form for the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO). It is an easy way for you to identify yourself as a potential panelist or reviewer for proposals with geoscience content.

Why identify yourself as a potential reviewer or panelist using this tool? One of the best ways to learn about the NSF merit review process is to serve as a proposal reviewer or a panelist for NSF.  The above link takes you to a tool that provides GEO a central, searchable list of self-identified potential reviewers. Reviewers gain first-hand knowledge of the merit review process, learn about common pitfalls with proposal construction, and discover factors that contribute to strong proposals. Through serving on a panel, you can meet colleagues and NSF program officers managing programs related to your interests.

By filling out the form, you provide Program Officers from across GEO with information that helps them cross-reference needed reviewer expertise with volunteers from diverse organizations, geographic locations, and experiences. GEO will only use the information you share as part of setting up the merit review process. Each year GEO receives proposals to its disciplinary programs, special solicitations, and interdisciplinary, use-inspired, and innovation-related funding opportunities. Such a range of proposal topics requires input from experts at academic, private sector, non-profit, community, and government institutions.
