JOB OPPORTUNITY: Facilities Construction & Maintenance Manager, Arctic

The National Science Foundation's Office of Polar Programs (OPP) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Facilities Construction and Maintenance Manager within the Arctic Research Support & Logistics Program. 

The Arctic Research Support & Logistics Program is responsible for planning, budgeting, and overseeing the infrastructure, operations, and logistics support for science projects funded by the Arctic Sciences Section. 

Working closely with other program managers, the Facilities Construction & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for numerous activities including, but not limited to:

  • Evaluating, prioritizing, and integrating facilities and utility requirements into annual and long-range plans for continuous improvement in terms of fire and life safety, usability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of facilities and utilities recapitalization plans and development of maintenance requirements.
  • Evaluating new technologies, materials, equipment, and construction methods that may enhance construction, maintenance, energy efficiency, and operations.
  • Interacting with the other program managers to ensure that operating requirements are reflected in infrastructure development and to integrate facility and utility support requirements associated with science, logistics, construction, information technology, and other requirements.
