The number of doctoral awards to temporary visa holders is highly concentrated in a few countries—10 countries accounted for 71% of the doctorates awarded from 2006 to 2016. The top three countries—China, India, and South Korea—accounted for over half (54%) of all temporary visa holders' doctoral awards.
